I will agree about Hot 97..it's the "CNN" of Hip-Hop in New York, but you could also check out Power 105.1 (WWPR) as well since they too have a hip-hop/R%26amp;B format.

I'm about as far away from a hip-hop guy as you can get, but nevertheless, even I know that Hot 97 is pretty big around here in New York.

It's the big hip-hop FM radio station here. I can't say I'm a listener, just personal preference. But I think you might be satisfied with that site, it's probably a good place to start.
