my bestest friend ever, moved to new york about a year and a half ago once he got there, we talked alot on aim and myspace, saying we missed eachother wished he had not moved.. etc.. ok well we soon to find out, we both like eachother, ALOT well ok so recently, he told me he loved me, and i too love him, he is trustworthy, honest, sweet, funny, cute smart and soooo nice, he would never hurt me, and i trust him with my life... ok well so, if we both love eachother but are not officailly 'boy friend girlfriend' is it ok for him to like another girl? i mean he does not like another girl but his friend was trying to find him a girlfriend, he was like it would be kool if she did.. but it made me extremely jealous, PLEASE HELP!?!

... and how could i talk about commitment when we are accross the country, visiting is out of question we are both 13 (almost 14) most of you think too young, but we know it is true, he would never hurt me, we know all about eachother, and we are best friends

wow this is very similar to my situation

cept my ex who moved away.. isn't all that trustworthy

he moved a year and a bit ago..about 8 hours away and he hasn't come to visit or anything..we talked on the phone constantly..probably about 1-2 hours a day when we could.. we were literally madly in love for the time he was here and i miss him so much..till this day

i dated a few guys while he was gone..but no one compared to him.

not even close..

i felt guilty though because he never even dated anyone else.. i'm sure he's liked some girls though.

my problem was also that i just moved 2 hours away from where he now lives and i was hoping that we could possibly start things up again..but he STILL hasnt made the efffort to come visit and he JUST recently got himself a girlfriend

i understand your jealousy.. even though it is ridiculous to think of a long distance relationship..the thought of them being with someone else just isn't pleasant..

my advice is stay away from long distance. it doesn't do either person any good..

just stay really close friends and maybe one day in the future things will work out..hopfeully for me too

Hun, living across the country away from you with a friend of his trying to hook him up, i hate to say it but he's going to find someone else. Being virtually connected is hard enough for adults and for kids...well it's not going to work. This isn't healthy for you..get out and meet other people be happy. it two are not going out... he has every right to ask another girl out or go on a date... from experence long distance relationships dont work out... also saying you love a person is a big thing... its a phrase over used and a lot of the times some one uses to please another person... maybe it is better to let him go and see what occurs... another thing dont be jealous it only brings stress upon yourself

Well you are right on one thing, I do think you're too young, but who knows you 2 know more about your feelings for each other then I do, so lets roll with it. For starters, it is possible to love and like someone, if you're the one he loves then dont worry about the one he likes as long as he is a trustworthy guy. Now as far as the talk about commitment, well just run it by him some people dont mind long distance relationships (yes they suck) but it gives people the chance to get to know one another on a more personal level, no physical conflicts to mess stuff up. So I would just call him and let him know that you would like for you to be the only girl in his life and would like to be his girlfriend. How he responds is up to him, but you will never know unless you try. Hope this helps

Oh, Meg. You're going to be dating a lot of boys that DO live near you during your teenage and high school years. You should absolutely keep your friend in your life and the close relationship you have developed, but you need to know that you can't geographically be together now or for quite a while. If it's meant to be down the line, it will be. But for now, have fun with your friends and be open to having other crushes and boyfriends in your town. Keep your New York friend close through phone calls and letters, and maybe when you both are older something may come of it, but it won't be anytime soon. You'll be okay. If he really cares about u he will be willing to wait for u no matter what. he himself would tell his friend that he already has someone. the fact that he's willing to have a girlfriend there, in New York, and keep ur hopes up means he might not care about u as much as u may think. if he does get a girlfriend then u can have a bf as well. if he doesnt like it well too bad. once u guys meet up again if u still feel the same way u can make it work, but for now let it go and see what else is out there!
